限時動態 - 超領域國際展

 

 

顏回曰:「墮肢體,黜聰明,離形去知,同於大通,此謂坐忘。」 (《莊子.大宗師》)如此坐忘即相合於莊子的大道:「有生命的 無秩序」。

 

大眾傳媒時代綿延廣拓的時代大變動,其中,主體自身愈趨顯 明的失神般狀態,是坐忘?抑或是個體猶若失勢於當下的即時分享,失神於閱覽的媒體網絡世界?結構主義思潮以降,如德勒玆 (Gilles Deleuzeㄈ、瓜塔里(Félix Guattari)的《千高原》總彰 顯我們所處的環境混沌遊牧、層層積澱,主體與所連結的有形與無 形的周遭,由變動的感知集合種種「捕獲裝置」高原。今日面對傳 媒時代的不斷擬化,訊息、物體與時空的意義不斷地變動延異,受任一當下的「千高原」而衍伸不同的內涵。《限時動態 - 超領域國 際展》試圖構築演化生成來驗證存有,藉由層疊架構關係來呈顯現 實世界的圖像。尤其,使參與者重回自身感知之「千高原」,從每個當下啟動全人的感知,開展與作品以至於現實世界的遊牧交互關係。 

 

《限時動態》的作品所呈顯的,一則是物理即時的,又或是其 對多直接地互為傳播。觀者之感知將無盡地沈浸於「超領域」產出 的靜/動態影視音、圖文/場所與音樂會/劇場表演。真實與擬像、 主客融一串流在《限時動態》。一如傳媒網際網路時代我們愈發不 受物理空間所限,且以「同步」計量速度穿梭於非地方性的當下且 地球村式的空間錯置、界限消弭的超領域勿托邦(Atopia)。 

 

按捺不住心思於螢幕關機的日常,如何網路繁華不掛眼!手機 已經從配備選項晉升成為我們的必須「幻肢」!「滑」與「點」的 動作間,當下經驗成為片段過程,使得每個撞見的此在比起歷史更 具魅力,身心無處棲身盡是媒體網絡景觀!是否今日的我們寄養於 無遠弗屆的媒體網絡傳播力?本屆國際策展即是針對現今尚未名狀的趨勢提問。傳播媒體之資訊器具化成為我們接觸世界的器官機 制,它著實滲透感知經驗與理思評判! ...... 冀望本策展尚能體呈全 感官開放體驗,讓人們再臨與暢活於一種新興坐忘!? 

 

本屆當代藝術雙年展系列《限時動態 - 超領域國際展》將有國 內外藝術家與相關領域的專業團隊共 21 組,以實踐策展主軸為主 旨反思當下情境與媒體外延之感知。此次集結錄像裝置藝術大師蓋 瑞.希爾(Gary HILL)、數位編碼衍生創作的河口洋一郎(Yoichiro KAWAGUCHI )與生態永續、時尚服飾、流行音樂、搖滾元素以至 於跨界表演劇場、多元現地製作,並於臺藝大有章藝術博物館、歷 史建築改裝的「九單藝術實踐空間」、「臺藝大藝術聚落」、舊時 的臺北紙廠:「臺藝大文創園區」盛大舉辦展演映國際大活動,其 中,博物館前廣場的〈Real-Time〉與文創園區的〈宇宙的徵兆〉 演出相繼登場。

 

《限時動態 - 超領域國際展》邀您以活絡開放的全人感知身體, 與我們共同參與現場,藉此向人們的感知邊際或新境寫下新注腳。


 

 

SNAPS OMNI EXPO – Transdisciplinary International Exhibition   

 

 

According to Yan Hui, “My connexion with the body and its parts is dissolved; my  perceptive organs are discarded. Thus leaving my material form, and bidding farewell to  my knowledge, I become one with the Great Pervader. This I call sitting and forgetting  all things.” (Zhuangzi, ‘The Great and Most Honoured Master’) Such "sitting and  forgetting" is in line with Zhuangzi’s great way the “lively disorder”. 

 

Changes stretch and expand in the mass media era, and the subject itself  conspicuously becomes more out of sorts. Is this state the so-called “sitting and  forgetting”? Or the individual falls into disgrace to the instant sharing, absentminded  in the media network world of reading? After the structuralist trend of thought, such  as Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari's Thousand Plateaus, which highlights the chaotic  and layered environment in which we live, while the tangible and intangible areas  surrounding a subject, and various "trapping devices" along with varying perceptions  gather together to form a plateaus. Today, in the face of the constant simulation at the  era of media, the meanings of information, objects and time and space are constantly  changing to produce différance, so different connotations are derived from the  "thousand plateaus" of the moment. 

 

SNAPS OMNI EXPO attempts to build evolutionary "becoming" environment to verify  sein(being) and presents the real-world images through layering and piling construction,  especially the "thousand plateaus" that brings the participants back to their own  perceptions and opens their holistic perceptions at each moment to carry out the  nomadic interaction with the works and the real world. 

 

In SNAPS, the works either present the real-time physicality, or communicate in  multiple ways. The viewers will be endlessly immersed in the static/dynamic video  and audio, the graphic and images/places, and the concerts/theatrical performances  produced by “trans-displinary practices”. The reality and the simulacra as well as the  subject and the object are all streaming in SNAPS. Just as in the era of the Internet,  we are less confined by the physical spaces. At the same time, with the speed of  "synchronization", we are moving through the non-local moment and the global village  space misplacement – the borderless, transdisciplinary Atopia. 

 

For those who always unable to hold their minds in the ordinary moment of screen  shutdowns, how can they not pay attention to the bustling world on the Internet?  Nevertheless, mobile phones have been promoted to our must-have "phantom limb"  from the previously optional equipment! The moment of our "phubbing" and "clicking"  becomes the step of segmentation, making the dasein (presence) of each encounter  more attractive than history. There is nowhere to rest, physically and mentally, because  online media is seen everywhere. Nowadays, are we getting fostered care by the far reaching media network communication system? 

 

 The curatorial theme of this exhibition is to ask questions about trends that are  not yet known. The instrumentalisierung (instrumentalization) of communication media  information and that become our organ to contact the world. It does infiltrate our  perception and rational judgment! ...Herein, we look forward to seeing this curatorial  project present the comprehensive perceived experiences and allows people to revisit  and live in the new status of "sitting and forgetting". 

 

This year's Biennial of Contemporary Arts, SNAPS OMNI EXPO – Transdisciplinary  International Exhibition, features 21 groups of domestic and foreign artists and related  professional teams, aiming to follow the curatorial plans to reflect on the current  situation and the perception about the extension of media. This exhibition has  assembled many masterpieces, including: the video installation by Gary Hill and the  digital coding artwork by Yoichiro Kawaguchi; and also includes the following different  fields of creation: ecological sustainability, fashionable clothing, pop music, rock and roll  elements, interdisciplinary performances, and multiple site-specific artworks. In addition,  grand exhibition, performances and screening events will be held at different venues,  including 9 Art Space, NTUA Art Village, the former Taipei Paper Mill, Cultural and  Creative Industry Park (CCIP) at NTUA. Moreover, Real-Time will be presented at the  front square of the Museum while the Symbol of the Universe will be staged at CCIP.

美國,b.1951

熟悉語音聲響、錄像裝置、媒介詮釋身體,20世紀70年代蓋瑞.希爾開始透過錄像處理雕塑的自我指涉,透過聲響、口述語音與影像機具建立數位媒介與物質世界的關聯,重塑錄像媒介下作品場所的體感空間與觀眾語音知覺的互動關係。在許多重要美術館舉辦個展與曾參與德國文件展、法國里昂雙年展、韓國光州雙年展、印度科欽雙年展。

Familiar with voice sounds, video installations, media interpretation of the body, Gary Hill began to deal with sculptural self-referencing through video installations to establish a connection between digital media and the material world through sound, human voices, and video equipment, reconstructing the interaction between the audience’s voice perception and the physical space of the work in the context of video. His solo exhibitions have been held at major museums. He also participated in documenta in Germany, Biennale de Lyon in France, Venice Biennale, Gwangju Biennale, and Kochi-Muziris Biennale in India.

河口洋一郎 Yoichiro KAWAGUCHI 

日本,b.1952

1970年代開始創發影像世界的圖像生成技術,他對原初生命體的熱愛與研究,藉由新媒體媒介建構屬於他的圖像系統。河口洋一郎的圖像世界主要是透過遞迴與加乘的圖形演算,以創造在電子世界的活體生物軌跡,造物邏輯正如碎形(Fractal)數學運算,像是自然生命般地無以預測。從河口洋一郎作品中也可見與生物演化論、天文學以及日本文化的連結。

Kawaguchi started to create image generation to invent the techniques of computer generated pictures in the 1970s, his love and research for original life forms, constructing his own pictorial system with new media. His system mainly uses recursive and multiplications in graphical calculations in order to create a living organism trajectory in the digital world. The logic of creation is unpredictable, like fractal math calculation or natural life. Kawaguchi’s works may have been influenced by the theory of biological evolution, astronomy and Japanese culture.

梅爾.奧卡拉漢 Mel O’CALLAGHAN 

澳洲,b.1975

梅爾.奧卡拉漢生於澳洲,現於法國生活工作。曾在雪梨雙年展與法國東京宮展出作品, 她將身體視為內省與冥想的媒介,透過其象徵系統的指令運行,在重覆與固定姿態的儀式過程中達到中介性(liminality)之場域建構。藉過渡儀式推展意識的轉換,誘使照應出真實的自我。

Mel O’Callaghan was born in Sydney, Australia. She lives and works in Paris, France. Her works has been exhibited at the Sydney Biennale and Paris:Palais de Tokyo. She views the body as a site of introspection and meditation, and runs through the orders of its symbolic system, thus achieving a reconstruction of liminality in rituals of repeatedly and fixed postures. Using transitional rituals to expand the conscious of physical body and psychological to transform and which occur outside of the self.

李家維、鄭耕宇、洪信介、藝術協作:陳志誠

全球21%植物物種正面臨滅絕風險,人類面對此危機能做的是什麼?其中全球首創的苔蘚保種行動,致力於收藏氣候變遷下受脅迫的苔蘚。從2007年建立至今,蒐藏全球3萬3千多種的植物品種,以永續生物多樣性為使命。本次特邀保種中心由物種保育「方舟計畫」、苔蘚保種行動延伸共創。

21% of plants species in the world are encountering the crisis of extinction, what can exactly be done by human being ? As the vanguard of the world, the director of Dr.Cecilia Koo Botanic Conservation Center(KBCC) lead the operation of moss conservation under the threat of climate alienation. KBCC has conserved over 33000 species of plants since it founded in 2007, to permanently maintain the biological diversity. KBCC was honorably invited with it's 'Ark Operation' and moss conservation as a further collaboration.

從事當代藝術創作,莊哲瑋為現任OVKLAB的主設計師,作品涉及繪畫、裝置、影音、服裝、劇場等形式,隱含著人的慾望與恐懼,亦參照奇異科技、未知宇宙與人物形象的圖像造形。

本次以服裝為中介,三組樂團著裝、聲響貫穿挑高場域。莊哲瑋的創作從繪畫脈絡發散至表演事件,圖像、繪畫、雕塑、聲響、音樂、服裝、肢體、舞蹈在劇場中合流,提供一個創造性言說的可實踐「現場」──一場旅程。

A contemporary artist, Che-Wei CHUANG, simultaneously a current designer of OVKLAB, whose research practices involves paintings, installation, audio, costumes and theater, connotes human’s desires and fears that can be revealed by the pictorial forms combined with technologies, the unknown universe and human figures.

The costumes are set as intermediary that wore by bands smashing out sound piercing through the space. The performance work sets out from paintings that intersect with images, sculpture, sound, music, costumes, body and dance converging into theater, suggests a practicable ‘scene’ of creative descriptive language, a journey.

團隊由三人組成,團體創作交叉各自的創作觀點,褪去影像與聲響的自然擬仿,試探原初的數位狀態。江易錚研究聲音——人聲以口腔肌肉運動與聲帶發聲成為樂音元素,洪聖雄專注於光影影像與實體物質的交互作用,擴延影像的介面觀看至空間的層疊性質,江俊毅則關注視覺圖像與聲響的連動情形。

It is a team with a focus point intersecting with three artists’ perspectives. Shedding off the simulation of video and audio, reinvestigate the prototypical state of digital. The sound experiments by Yi-Cheng CHIANG is based on activities of oral muscle and phonation of vocal cords. Sheng-Hsiung HUNG researches on interaction of superficial images and substantial material, extend the view on interface and to multilayering characteristic of space. Chun-Yi CHIANG focus on the synergy effect of visual image and sound.

Born in Taoyuan at 1992, the artist currently stays and works at Banqiao, New Taipei. He focuses on painterly issues that can backtrack to view, frame, media and action, attempting to reveal the physicality as facts in the artistic process, forming a intercommunication with space through the deconstruction and reconstruction.

臺灣純血派鞭金樂團,混合了OLD SCHOOL 龐克、鞭苔金屬和黑金屬的曲風。樂團遵循著 PUNK、THRASH 的脈絡,以最原始的直拳衝擊並且保留金屬樂應有的批判力道。

Taiwan pure trash metal music band, combined with OLD SCHOOL punk, caning metal and black metal. The maintain the threads of punk and trash, play out the music with the most primitive impact without losing the critical power of metal band.

演出|Berserk

由徐嘉駿 (Jared Xu) 於2015年起主導的Harsh Noise計畫。初期以自製樂器產生的大量 Feedback 和合成器為主,而後開始專注於效果器no-input的手法。運用效果器產生難以控制的反饋,以身體性、高能量、高音量構成表演。

Berserk

Berserk began by Jared Xu, who lead a Harsh Noise project in 2015. In the early period, the group styled music mainly with synthesizer and gigantic mount of Feedback produced by self-made instruments, and then focused on no-input pedals effects. The use of effects produce various feedback difficult to control; his shows consists of bodily plays, high energy and high volume.

James Lu studied in music department of Chung-Hwa School of Arts and achieved greats results in singing competition in university. He’s currently creating his own pieces to participate in Taiwan singing talent shows ‘Jungle Voice’.

Astro Bunny is composed of two musicians: Chacha (former singer of Cherry Boom) as main singer and Nu. A duet electronic band who is very proficient at telling stories with songs, they internalized with every voices and memories inside the soul in a very contemporary electronical way, sharing every phrase of life and experiences, and are profoundly loved by fans for the famous song ‘Forgotten Forest’.

演出|BIKE 機踏車樂團 &張育嘉 Yu-Chia CHANG

來自臺中的搖滾樂團,由主唱育嘉於2005年成立,並於2013年發行首張專輯《嘿!我想一下》,曲風以復古老搖滾和Disco 還有流行龐克混種而成,演出現場張力十足且感染力強,現任成員有主唱兼吉他手:育嘉、主唱兼KB:方里、貝斯:阿耀、鼓手:爾軒。

 

 

張育嘉 

張育嘉現就讀於國立臺灣藝術大學美術學系當代視覺文化博士班,以繪畫背景跨入立體裝置,以其自身的風格造形描繪生活中的。此外,他也身兼機踏車樂團主唱及吉他手,參與臺灣各大音樂祭演出,近來正嘗試當代藝術中樂團演唱的創作可能。

Rock band from Taichung, established by main singer Yu-Chia at 2005, issuing the first album ‘Hey! Let me think a moment’ at 2013, playing with the style vintage rock and disco and mixed with popular punk. Performing with outstanding and persuasive power of music. Current member has the lead vocalist and guitarist:Yu-Chia, another lead vocalist and KB:Fang-Li, Bass:En-Yao, and Drum:Er-Syuanx.

 

Yu-Chia CHANG
Yu-Chia CHANG is currently studying in contemporary visual culture PhD of fine arts department in NTUA and crossing into installation art from painting context, depicting his dailies observation with his own artistic researching context. Moreover, he is also a vocalist and guitarist of music band BIKE, participated in the main music festivals in Taiwan. Recently searching for the artistic creation possibilities from music band to contemporary art.
